So cute and cozy

We enjoyed our stay so much, it is clean, cute and cozy. Most definitely going to stay there again. Enjoyed going to downtown Ellijay and to downtown Blue Ridge. Great place to stay to get away from this busy world. Love it

We enjoyed the privacy of seclusion . It was quiet

,pretty, nice walking areas . Cabin furnished very nice

Recommendations : Information said “new fence “.

Not so. Fence needs to be secured around entire

doggie area ( it wasn’t). One of our dogs got out thru

Area that was “secured “ by only sticks thru fence

1st day there spent 3 hrs in woods searching for her

When found ( thank God ) had to take to vet (250 .00 )

later back to

Cabin. Daisy restricted from walks., pads and body cut

Up from woods , she was scared ,etc. so no walks for

Her ( that’s point of mountain vaca . Because fence not

Properly checked and secured before our much

Anticipated visit , put a real damper on our yearly

Mountain visit 😢. These things need to properly

Checked when folks paying good money to spend

Quality time with their pets ! Hope lesson learned from

Management for future

Also pooper scoopers both broken ( see aug visitors )

Noted same. Not replaced before we got there .

Fire pit benches useless. One bench on top of fire pit

Couldn’t sit there Other had board on top of cinder blocks

Hard to sit there. We always loved sitting out with dogs

For fire pit nights. That was not comfortable either

Cabin had potential but all these things need addressed

To help folks feel they get what was promised and to

See they have good time with family pets

Fence REALLY needs help for future visitors. Not sticks

Stuck in cracks where chicken wire needed strong staples

Need peace of mind for fur babies which are FAMILY

Next visit to sliding rock cabin we will affirm fence is checked

And TOTALLY secure , to protect our fur babies , hopefully

No uncalled for vet bills due to fence issues , and I won’t be

Beat up myself from woods and terrified never see my baby

Again Love our fur babies Just trying at this point to

Prevent others going thru what we had to 🥲

3 stars . Some good some bad. The cabin has a wonderful view and that was the huge pro. Cons. Very challenging 15 minute drive up the mountain on steep bumpy gravel road. Inside the cabin it was just ok. Not enough seating in living for 4 adults . Furniture was just ok. Could use some updating. Not worthy a 5 star cabin. A sign that says $50 fine if you forget to pick up a poop in fenced area. Totally understand a reminder to pick up but $50 ???? The rates for rentals are high nowadays so if you pay top dollar for what is advertized as a 5 star rental, I expect more. Lastly (not relating to the actual cabin but the company) it took them 18 days before we got out deposit back but they request the $500 deposit at booking. Seems a bit unbalanced I would think.

No complaints…..

We had a fun stay. The cabin was very nice, super clean, well furnished and comfortable. The bed slept well. Beautiful views. We were not prepared for the conditions of the roads. 90 % of the roads are not paved after you start up the mountains. I think a 4wheel drive is necessary especially on rainy days. We would definitely stay again, just plan to arrive the first time before it gets dark. Its easy to get turned around.

Song of the south cabin

Very disappointed, living room and kitchen are very small..lighting in kitchen is terrible,no pods for dish washer , no glass top cleaner for stove. The dog bed is very small like for a cat or very small dog. Mattress in downstairs room is worn out therefore you geel as though you are falling in a hole, Pillow cases dont fit pillows so so pillows come outs all night. Absolutely no storage for dry food that you bring. Bench at kitchen table very wobbly can't sit on it.

I do wish I could say we had a great experience like most have in the cabin, but that just not the case.

I cannot speak of the cabin because we never made it to the cabin; due to road conditions are not drivable.

The road condition is BAD. Yes, we probably could have made it up, but it would have torn the vehicle up in the process or at the least required a mechanic afterwards (alignment) beyond the normal oil change and routine service. I have drove in the mountains many times within Georgia, South Caroline and Tennessee and never had trouble getting up a road (pave & gravel). Although this road was steep, I did not think it was unreasonable steep and the gravel not an issue I have drove on that before and some much steeper. The issue is the LARGE potholes that was causing the bottom of the vehicle to drag and knock the front bumper. I did try going up this area of the mountain on both sides a couple of times until I almost got stuck and a pop came from the front of the vehicle. It also was hard to get into drive afterwards for a short period (assume gravel got caught in tire).

CABIN OWNER - Jerry General Manager: Kathy

When we called and spoke with them there was nothing they could do; they had no more cabins available. The owner had really no interest in helping other than telling us to just sit there and think about it and then go and try going up to cabin again. I thought that was stupid unless you were going to have the LARGE potholes in the road fix within a short period. They offer no type of refund partial or reschedule date to another cabin; anything except they were not responsible for the roads. I told her that they should have at least put in the brochure that you would need a 4X4 or larger car that sits high to access the cabin from the road. She said that they never had that type of complaint and this cabin been in the lineup for 18 years.

I have scan back over reviews and these are some reference dates that made my same argument Feb 18 2020, Dec 30 2019, Nov 9 2029 and July 19 2019 (there were several I seen in 2018 but did not want to go that far back). This tells me she either lies or does not pay attention to these reviews unless they are a bad one because you see nothing less than 4 stars which is kind of strange with those road condition. If it rains you are out of luck, I am sure so make sure you have all your food, drinks, snacks, and games for entertainment. This is the first time I really gave anyone less than 4 stars and really was unhappy with the service or lack of. So, we were having to find a place to stay at 5:00 in the afternoon after a day out in the water.

To end with a good note: There not much to do in the blue ridge area but if you like kayaking go to Blue Ridge Mountain Kayaking. Its peaceful and the owner are very nice.

Great time

Stayed here for the weekend. Cabin was wonderful, but did need to freshen up the bath towels and also did not have enough pillow cases for the pillows on the beds. The outside decks and walkways were very slippery due to the rain and the yard needed to be cleaned up. Had several big tree limbs laying around. Need

better way to enter the river like steps and the weeds, poison ivy cut around the river seating area. Also need to replace the wood furniture down by the river. We had a great time, but just needs a little yard work.

Do not do business with this company. Broke contract with us due to storm. Halfway there got a call to go back home unable to get to cabin due to storm damage. Power out and trees down. Refuse to refund money to us, so now we can't even make alternate plans. Loose vacation time. Bought insurance but will take 2 months at least to file claim and maybe get refund. Glad to give gift certificate but with stipulations. Thieves is what these people are.

What a WONDERFUL week!

Our stay in Elijay was the PERFECT end to our hectic summer! The cabin was secluded yet close enough to town to make sightseeing easy. Double Tap Creek cabin was clean, furnished nicely and in an idyllic setting. Sliding Rock Cabins was an easy to use rental management company. We will definitely be back!

Location was AWESOME!! Getting to cabin was an adventure within itself!
A few things that need addressing.* Mold was in basement, especially the room with the PacMan game. Couldnt even play the game for the smell. Made breathing difficult. Pool room was very noticeable also. Damp and musty.
* Sut was everywhere in house after the wind blew strong. Had to mop 2 to 3 times to get the black sut off. Dusted everything also! Both flus were left open!
*Mold on all decks, porch screens, and steps. Not only bad for your health but very slippery!!! Needs to be pressurewashed and cleaned thoroughly!!
*stairs to upstairs bedrooms a fall hazard.
*Outside smelled like pet urine!
*Basement carpet was DIRTY! Needs to be replaced with tile.
Inside of cabin was pretty nice except for the basement issues.
Was disappointed when initial reservations were made only 6 nights were available even though we wanted to stay 7 nights. We weren't able to take advantage of stay 6 get 7th free. Didnt seem quite fair they wouldnt give any kind of discount for the 6th night
Not our fault knly y nights were available.
LOVED the peace and quiet!

Wonderful Vacation Spot

This was our first time visiting the mountains. We stayed for 4 nights. We chose Sliding Rocks because they are pet friendly with no pet fees or restrictions. This cabin was wonderful! It was exactly as described. It was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed the hot tub and used it multiple times. It was quiet and relaxing. The fur babies enjoyed the fenced in yard. Will definitely be staying again. Already looking for dates to stay in the fall. I have already recommended to friends!

Very very nice stay

well to start with, the person who cleans this cabin deserves a raise, it was absolutely spotless all the amenities were great the deck and stairway were just renovated , very nice. the LED light in hallway went out but that was nothing overall very impressed , we have rented many cabins over the years and this one is probably one of the best.

Song of the south

We had a great time at song of the south, our 3 dogs loved playing in the creek. It was a very tranquil setting, probably one of the most peaceful vacations I have only complaint if I were to complain would suggest a good pressure washing on the deck, porch, and outdoor furniture.I will definitely be back.

Good...

Cabin was great. Could use a total walk around for updates. Example- majority of the outlets are loose and hard to plug things in without plug falling out. Outside was a bit of a mess- cigarette butts and ash all over outside + trash and cleaned up after dogs from previous renters. Outside scenery made it worth while and even with little things would stay here again.

Great vacay with the pups!

We had the best time at this cabin. The view was spectacular and it was so much fun to roast S'mores on the firepit. Sweet Harley and Beau LOVED the extra tall fenced yard. We have stayed in a number of Sliding Rock Cabins and as always, it was spotless and we were well taken care of. This cabin is very easy to get to Blue Ridge.

Amazing Views & spotless cabin

We just came back from the most wonderful stay at Heavenly View Lodge. The name speaks for itself - the views are stunning. We could have stayed out on the porch all night. Our dogs really enjoyed the freedom of the fenced yard and I enjoyed not having to take them for a midnight walk! The cabin was spotless and well supplied. We will be back.... I hope soon!

We and our pups enjoyed our stay at Cherokee Shoals. From playing pool to tubing to soaking in the hot tub and enjoying the firepit we had a great weekend. This was my fourth stay at No Place Like Doe. The yard is perfect for my dogs & they always have the best time here. Both beds are super comfortable & it is great that they have closed in the upstairs bedroom for more privacy. Also, it was great that the living room TV is hooked up to Roku now for streaming. We always love our time at Sliding Rock.

Back Again

We've stayed at 13 Crows before and we enjoyed our time again. The cabin has everything needed, but it could use some updating--TVs, kitchen table, seating (indoors and out). The view outside is beautifully peaceful as well as the hike down to Amy Creek. Most importantly, our girls (dogs) were able to enjoy another vacation with us and that means the most.

Perfect Retreat with Nature

A trip to the GA Mountains through Sliding Rock Cabins has become an annual family event for us and this year didn’t disappoint! This lovely cabin on the Coosawattee River was the perfect location to relax and unwind. We started each day with breakfast on the porch listening to the river, watching birds, and waiting for the local deer families to stop by for their daily visit. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed with every convenience we needed. The game room on the lower level was the perfect fun retreat on the one day it rained. My family was able to get some fishing in and we thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit by the riverbank. There are quite a number of stairs to get down to the river, but even with a bad knee, as long as I took my time it wasn’t bad. The fenced yard right off the front porch for our three small dogs was absolutely perfect...easy to access and completely secure.
The location is perfect for visiting the sights and attractions in Ellijay and the surrounding area...antique stores, farmer’s markets, Amicalola Falls, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, and the charming town of Helen. Getting in and out of the resort was not difficult, and we had no issues at the security gate. The roads to the cabin are steep and winding, but being in the mountains, that’s expected. The majority of the roads to the cabin are paved with only about the last 1/3 mile gravel. We didn’t have 4-wheel drive and we were fine getting to and from the property...although low gear was definitely helpful in a couple of spots
We’re already planning for our next trip to Ellijay in April 2024. I can’t speak highly enough about Sliding Rock Cabins; they are attentive, easy to work with, and the cabins they manage are wonderful for all members of the family! And most importantly, they truly are the epitome of pet friendly. Being able to bring our dogs with us on vacation and knowing we’re taking them to a place that does not charge pet fees.

Came back for more

We stayed at this property many years ago, and decided to come back again based on the positive experience we had previously. The cabin is in a quiet, private location. Yes, the dirt roads are a little challenging to navigate, but we had no troubles getting in and out with our 4-wheel drive. The indoor living space is rustic, yes, and on the small side, but fine for a couple. There could have been a few more kitchen utensils, and we would prefer a Keurig-type coffee pot, but those details are minor. The real beauty of this spot is the outdoor space. The creek is wonderful - couldn't be more relaxing. We loved chilling out in the creekside swing. The hot tub was used several times. The only issue was that the cover is quite heavy, and was a bit difficult for the two of us to remove. A lifter would have been nice. Also, the light on the hot tub didn't work, but we were fine without it.
This is a lovely little cabin in a beautiful setting, and we look forward to coming back for a third visit in the future.

Father’s Day Getaway

Beautiful! The creek is stunning! This property was such a treat for my father and I to get away and enjoy Father’s Day with my dog. We enjoyed everything from the wineries, hiking, the fire pit, and all that the area has to offer. next time, we will bring our golf clubs! The interior does need some updating and I would probably not bring a low riding car. The driveway was an experience! Other than that we had a perfect time! Thank you so much! I will be back!

Very Nice

We loved the location. The setting was beautiful. The cabin was convenient for having 2 dogs, the fenced area was clean and useful for a safe potty area before bedtime. We enjoyed short walks on the private road shared with the kind and friendly neighbors. We found the furniture to be comfortable as well as the beds. I even asked my parents about the master bedroom mattress and they liked it fine, they prefer a firmer one. The kitchen was accommodating, even for 2 people at once, and the cookware was in great condition. Thank you to Sliding Rock for providing nice cabins for dog lovers who cannot leave them behind for family trips. You truly provide the best value with no pet fees 🙂

Beautiful and Peaceful Cabin

I can’t begin to tell you how much we loved staying at A creek runs thru it. This cabin had everything. It was also by far the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed at. The sound of the creek was so relaxing. We spent most of our time on the back porch. The weather was perfect. Our dog absolutely loved the yard and being able to walk right in the creek we will be back for sure!

EXCEPTIONAL Cabin!

Sliding Rock Cabins always deliver. This is probably our 4th time using Sliding Rock and now that we live out of state, we always return to this area and use Sliding Rock. The service they provide is outstanding.

Amazing Place

Creekside Manner was absolutely amazing. The pictures do not give it justice. As soon as you step out your vehicle you hear the creek. Everything that we needed was provided in the cabin. It was one of the most peaceful vacations we have had in a long time. We will definitely be back in the future. I would recommend staying at Creekside Manner you will not reject it.
